Introduction
The B.C. government is reviewing the rules that establish employment standards and workers compensation coverage for people who do app-based ride-hail and delivery work.
These rules became law on September 3, 2024. They include:
- A minimum wage
- A separate minimum payment for distance travelled
- Rules about deactivations
- Workers’ compensation coverage if you are injured while doing this work
- Health and safety protections for workers
You can find more information in the Minimum Standards and Protections overview document. We invite people who have done app-based ride-hail or delivery work, and the general public, to complete this survey.
Your answers will help us understand working conditions in this sector and how these rules are working in real life.
This survey will be open from July 17 to September 1, 2026 (4 pm PT).
