The Office of the Seniors Advocate is undertaking a review to better understand long-term care supply and demand issues, including the challenges associated with wait times, for seniors in B.C.
We want to hear from family caregivers about their experiences helping a family member access publicly-funded long-term care to inform the review and recommendations to government.
Please take this short survey if you are a caregiver supporting a family member who:
- is currently waitlisted for a publicly-funded long-term care bed, or
- was previously waitlisted and has been admitted to long-term care in the last year.
What is Long-Term Care?
Long-term care services are for people with complex care needs who can’t live safely in their own home or in assisted living and require 24-hour nursing care and support. In B.C., there are both publicly-funded and private-pay long-term care homes available.
